TUTORIAL || Morgause [Merlin] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 31 July 2015

This tutorial has been on my Fandom Friday list since the beginning yet it has taken me all this time to do it. I've been doing Fandom Fridays for about six months now and they are my favourite things to do, especially now that I can edit the footage and show you all exactly what I'm doing so it was only natural that when I decided to do Morgana that her sister, Morgause, would follow. Also, check the rest of the post for the video, some pictures and a reason why posting on this date was a fortuitous coincidence.

Ciaté Blush Pop Creme Blush - The One

Wednesday, 29 July 2015

In recent months Ciaté have been expanding into the makeup market. to add to their much raved about nail varnish line. I have never tried anything from this brand before. I have seen Ciaté raved about on blogs and YouTube videos and seen gift sets during the run up to Christmas but I've never taken the plunge to actually buy anything. That all changed in Monte Carlo's Sephora when I saw this little guy on the Stand of Doom that housed brushes, roll on perfumes and some sample sized products. I picked this up.

GET READY WITH ME || Saturday Night Dinner With Friends

Tuesday, 28 July 2015

On Saturday night, I went to dinner with the ladies of my Darts Team to celebrate the end of the season. I decided that I would film myself as I did my makeup. I hope that you enjoy the makeup look. I will say that the outfit I wore in the video is not the outfit that I wore to dinner. Also, I didn't have my hair up like I did in the footage.

I wanted to share my outfit but a) we were in a hurry and I couldn't get anyone to take photos and b) I couldn't find the vast majority of the items online. Hopefully over the next few weeks I'll be able to do my first ever outfit post if I'm brave enough.

REVIEW || Make Up For Ever Makeup

Monday, 27 July 2015

If you saw my makeup haul from my cruise, you will know that I did some damage in Sephora, several times over. It has culminated in the makeup ban to end all makeup bans. It was that bad but I don't regret it because I bought some amazing things, mostly from Make Up For Ever, that I have been reaching for since getting home. Over the past few weeks I've been putting the face products from MUFE to the test. Finally, I can say what I think about them.

TUTORIAL || 'Dark' Morgana Pendragon [Merlin] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 24 July 2015

A few years ago I was utterly obsessed with BBC's Merlin. I particularly loved Morgana Le Fay and Morgause. I think the first episode that I fully watched was Morgause's first appearance in the second season episode, "The Sins of the Father". I quickly fell in love with the series and in turn Morgana, Morgause's sister. I had both of them down on my list of 'to-dos' for Fandom Friday but it wasn't until the other day when I was in the cinema watching Jurassic World for the second time, that I decided that this week's Fandom Friday would be a Morgana inspired look - because Katie McGrath was in Jurassic World as Zara.

HAUL || Comic Books

Wednesday, 22 July 2015

Yup. I'm expanding my nerdiness and stepping foot into the big world of comic books. I'm waving my Nerd Flag proudly. I had previously been gifted comics for my birthday by a friend of mine. I've since read them and loved them. So when I hung out with the bestie in Belfast last week, we went in Comic Book Guys in the Spires Mall to cheer her up. I inevitably bought some comics. I decided to haul them for my YouTube channel. Today is new comic book day and I hope that I can get some of the next issues of some of these. My fingers are crossed.

One Year of Kazzie Athena

Monday, 20 July 2015

It is crazy that on this date one year ago, my very first blog post went live on this blog. I had originally started a blog on Wordpress but I didn't really gel with the set up for it and moved to Blogger a few weeks later and never looked back. My very first post here was a tiny makeup haul (3 items) and it was posted on July 20th, 2014. I wasn't the most articulate in it and I'm pretty sure that I sounded like an idiot trying to talk about makeup and why I bought the products that I did. It's insane that that was only a year ago. It feels like an absolute age but at the same time, it feels like yesterday. But what a year it has been!

TUTORIAL || Peggy Carter [Agent Carter] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 17 July 2015

Fandom Friday again, dear friends, and this week brings you a more beauty orientated tutorial, by that, I mean that it's wearable outside for those of you that don't want to sport red smokey eye or yellow and green lids. This week's tutorial is a makeup look inspired by Marvel's Agent Carter aka Peggy Carter.

My New Bracelet

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

On the last two sailings with Royal Caribbean, I picked up little souvenirs that I wear practically non-stop. During my sailings on Splendour of the Seas, I picked up two rings which I wear all the time - I talked about them in this post. On my recent holiday on Vision of the Seas, Splendour's sister, I picked up a bracelet for $21. That was cheaper than either of the rings.

June Favourites || 2015

Monday, 13 July 2015

Another month has come and gone and here's another favourites from that month post. I feel like this month's post isn't as succinct as some previous months but we're just gonna roll with it. I feel like I've probably forgotten a dozen things but you know, that's okay. If I loved them that much then hopefully I'll continue using them in July and remember at the end of July. I'm hoping...

The Scarlet Witch [Marvel] Inspired Makeup Tutorial Now Live On YouTube

Sunday, 12 July 2015

As I mentioned in my last post - Batman inspired makeup look complete with video tutorial - I will be going back and uploading a few of my tutorials from Fandom Friday to YouTube. The majority of them will be silent because I didn't plan on editing them at the time and so there was no point in being particularly chatty

The look that I created for The Scarlet Witch from Marvel was definitely one of my favourites. I absolutely loved how it turned out so it was only natural that the footage from this would be next in line to be edited.

If you would like to keep up to date with my channel, feel free to subscribe to my channel, I would love to have you along.

TUTORIAL || Batman [DC Comics] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 10 July 2015

Welcome back to Fandom Friday, everyone. I hope that you've all had a wonderful week. I'm officially home from holiday a week now and it has been a week of withdrawals and throat infections - I have no idea where that came from but OMG,the pain! My skin though has never been happier to have had a breather from makeup. Until today because today is Fandom Friday and we're taking on Batman from the DC Comic Universe. But I have a surprise with this one...

Summer Essential || NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturiser

Wednesday, 8 July 2015

I wasn't sure what I expected when I bought NARS' Radiant Tinted Moisturiser when I was in Barcelona in April. I had wanted a tinted moisturiser for those days when I didn't want to deal with a fuller coverage and the inevitable melting for the warmer temperatures. I grabbed the lightest shade that I could find, 1 - Finland. I tried it when I was in Spain and nearly died when I first tried it. It immediately looked like I was spreading jaundice onto my face. I brought it home, I calmed down and I tried it again and again.

Sephora, MAC and More Makeup Haul

Monday, 6 July 2015

I went crazy over the past two weeks. It wasn't a little crazy. I went CRAY-ZEE! Firstly, I was in Dublin for Idina Menzel's World Tour concert and then I went on a Royal Caribbean Mediterranean Cruise with my family the day after the concert. I went into a MAC store in Dublin for a nosey and ended up with five eyeshadows and then whilst cruising around the Mediterranean, I ended up with three Sephora bags from three different countries. Yep. Crazy.

TUTORIAL || Captain America [Marvel] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 3 July 2015

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July and so for all of my American friends, this is perfect timing for a Captain America inspired makeup look. I originally did something else when I sat down to film this but I ended up hating it and that's the reason why my face looks the way it does at the start. Plus, I was feeling like crap when I filmed this tutorial. I was not well at all, my back was killing me and I was overheating and I just wasn't feeling inspired at all. I had ideas during the week but could I remember them? Nope. I took off what I had originally created and did this look.

REVIEW || Sleek i-Divine Ultra Matte (v2) Eyeshadow Palette

Wednesday, 1 July 2015

I am finally getting around to writing about the eyeshadow palette that has made an appearance in practically 90% of my makeup tutorials. If I'm not using one of the shadows as a transition shade or a skin tone shade, I'm using it for the more adventurous looks that I've been experimenting with lately. This palette has an amazing selection of colours so that you can get your natural looks, your smokey looks and your OMG looks. So here are my thoughts on the palette that I'm clearly smitten with.
