TUTORIAL || Rust Orange [Bajoran Militia Inspired] Makeup Look

Saturday, 30 July 2016

I can related anything back to Star Trek it would seem. What can I say? It's a gift. That, and I'm obsessed. With watching DS9 every day for the past month, I wanted to create a look around the uniform of the Bajoran Militia - the burnt orange and orange-red tones.

I've never been one to sway towards warm tones when it comes to eyeshadows so this was definitely something new for me and you know, I love how it turned out. I can now channel my own inner Bajoran without anyone else knowing. It's such a wearable look and on trend too.

TUTORIAL || Smokey Blue Eye Makeup Look

Thursday, 28 July 2016

It's been a while since I've posted a proper makeup tutorial that wasn't inspired by someone or something and I just played around with makeup. That's what this tutorial is about. I picked an eyeshadow that I wanted to use in some manner and created a look around it.

I'm absolutely in love with how this look turned out.

Just look at that blue! Isn't it just gorgeous?! I'm in love!

TUTORIAL || Major Kira Nerys [Star Trek: Deep Space Nine] Inspired Makeup Look

Wednesday, 27 July 2016

With Star Trek Beyond having been released last Friday, I wanted to do another Star Trek inspired makeup look. Instead of picking a character from or being inspired by Star Trek Beyond, I was inspired by Major Kira Nerys from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I've been watching it on Netflix and have been loving it!!

I did attempt to make a Bajoran nose four times but it just did not work out for one reason or another. I eventually said to pot with it and just concentrated on the makeup. Now, I want to stress that my face and eye shapes are completely different to that of Nana Visitor, the actress who brought Kira to life. Naturally, the makeup will look different on me. I wish I had her bone structure and eye shape. Alas, I do not.

I hope that you like it. Remember, colour match what you can. You do not have to use exactly what I do.

Where The Mountains Of Mourne Sweep Down To The Sea

Monday, 25 July 2016

I love to share pictures of my home. I absolutely adore living in Ireland because there is beauty everywhere and that beauty is even more spectacular when the sun is shining. Last weekend, I went to the Mournes armed with my DSLR with a shiny new lens and went a little snap happy. What can I say? It's beautiful up there and I wanted to take photographs and really get to grips with my camera.

Palettes Revisited || The Balm 'Nude'Tude' Palette

Thursday, 21 July 2016

For a new series on my YouTube channel I thought it would be an interesting concept to go through all of the eyeshadow palettes that I have and use them for a look. I don't use every single eyeshadow palette that I have in my collection on a regular basis. A lot of them require some much needed attention.

First up is the Nude'Tude eyeshadow palette from The Balm. A couple of years ago, one of my early blog posts was a review about the palette - here. Since then I go back and forth with this palette. Sometimes I really like it and sometimes I don't like it. It depends on the eye look that I want to do. Naturally, I wanted it to be the first palette in this series.

GOMO - Getting Out More Often

Wednesday, 20 July 2016

Check Twitter. Check Facebook. Check Instagram. Check SnapChat. Check Twitter again. Check Facebook again. Check Instagram again. Check SnapChat again. Check Twitter ag- Sound familiar? Do you ever spend the vast majority of your day checking your social media accounts over and over again for an update no matter how insignificant? Do you ever sit there and watch TV and just channel surf trying to find something to watch and end up watching something completely ridiculous but end up lifting your phone to see what everyone else is doing?

Well that is the fear of missing out talking. FOMO has become such an integral part of our lives that we have to know what everyone is doing and letting them know what we're doing. It's taking over our lives and potentially ruining what could probably be the best days of our lives, especially with summer now in full swing. So put down that phone or tablet and close that laptop (after reading this blog post) and get out more often - GOMO.

Brilliance of the Seas || The Ship I Was On

Tuesday, 12 July 2016

With my Travel Diary video (here), I didn't have a lot of space for footage of the ship, Brilliance of the Seas, because it was getting very long. If I had have included more footage of the ship, it probably would have been half an hour long. With that in mind, I thought that it would be fun to do a video solely on the ship to show how good it was, what was available on board and the craic therein. I didn't include everrrryyyything available because I was, honestly, too busy having fun.

I had an absolute blast on Brilliance of the Seas. The staff and crew were more than welcoming. I do think that the entertainment suffered because everyone was more interested in EURO2016 than what they were doing. Other than that, amazing time.

TRAVEL DIARY || Royal Caribbean Cruise 2016

Saturday, 9 July 2016

Hello, everyone. I know that I've been rather quiet on the blogging front. The truth is I was on vacation with my family and I bought a new camera that I wanted to get the grips with before doing anything. A holiday was the perfect opportunity to test out what I learnt about my camera and photography. I've always loved photography and after watching countless tutorials, it has turned into something that I appreciate all the more. I would stop at nothing to get the perfect shots on my holiday. Within reason.

While I was away, I decided that I would try to make a travel diary style video. My family and I went on a twelve night cruise on Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas. We stopped at seven destinations (excluding the setting off point of Barcelona) and I wanted to document them all. For that number of destinations, I think I did well for making a 19 minute video. Grab a cup of tea/coffee and a snack.

I have also included a number of my favourite photographs from each destination underneath the cut. I hope you like them.
